Plainfield WIC Services Remain Operational Amid Federal Shutdown

Local Families Can Continue to Access Essential Nutrition Support

I'm sorry, but I am unable to embed JavaScript code.

Amid the ongoing federal government shutdown, concerns have arisen regarding the continuity of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services.

As of October 7, 2025, Plainfield WIC remains open and fully operational, ensuring that local families continue to receive vital nutrition assistance.

The New Jersey WIC Program has confirmed that services will persist through at least November 2025.

Any updates from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be promptly communicated to the community.

Families can rely on WIC for nutrition support, breastfeeding assistance, and other essential services as usual.

In related community developments, the Plainfield City Council recently advanced a $3.75 million redevelopment agreement for the local health center, aiming to enhance healthcare services for residents.

Additionally, the North Central Jersey Association of REALTORS® (NCJAR) hosted a free Community Housing Fair in Plainfield on June 14, 2025, connecting residents with vital housing resources and support services.

We appreciate your patience and trust as we continue to keep you informed.

For any questions or assistance, please contact the Department of Health & Social Services.
