Plainfield Artist Showcases 'In Between' at Westfield Gallery This Holiday Season

Shen Rosen's evocative paintings explore liminal spaces in a captivating exhibition

Plainfield artist Shen Rosen is captivating art enthusiasts this holiday season with her latest exhibition, "In Between: Expressions of Liminal Spaces," at Galeria - The Art Venue in Westfield.

The exhibition, which opened on November 15, features 20 oil-on-canvas paintings that delve into the concept of transitional spaces, inviting viewers to reflect on moments of change and uncertainty.

Rosen, a 20-year-old artist, describes painting as a vital outlet for her emotions, stating, "It's such an outlet for me, whether it's anxiety, or if I am sad, depressed, or angry, or whatever, painting gets it out."

The community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with nine canvases sold by Thanksgiving, according to gallery owner Carlos Cruz.

Rosen expressed her gratitude, saying, "It feels awesome, it feels great for the support I have had. All the people that showed up. My parents, the community of Plainfield, and all the artists around me, like Carlos [Cruz] that have been so helpful."

The exhibition runs until December 20 at Galeria - The Art Venue, located at 111 Quimby Street in Westfield.

Art lovers are encouraged to experience this thought-provoking collection before the holiday season concludes.
