Neighborhood House Gears Up for 2025 Holiday Train Ride: Here's How to Get Involved |
Join the festive tradition and spread holiday cheer in Plainfield, NJ |
The Neighborhood House Association is in full swing preparing for its cherished annual Holiday Train Ride, set to depart on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This beloved event has been a cornerstone of the Plainfield community for over two decades, bringing joy and festive spirit to local children and families.
The Holiday Train Ride features a Santa Claus in each car, accompanied by a dedicated team of volunteer elves. Departing from the Plainfield Train Station at 10:13 AM, the train travels westward to Raritan before returning to Plainfield, offering participants a memorable journey filled with holiday magic.
Last year's event saw over 200 attendees, many of whom were local high school students volunteering their time. This year, the association aims to surpass that number, fostering an even greater sense of community involvement.
Tickets are still available for purchase. For those unable to attend, donations are warmly welcomed and will directly support the Neighborhood House Association's initiatives. Contributions for this event are accepted until December 31, 2025.
In addition to monetary support, toy donations are in high demand. Community members interested in donating toys this holiday season are encouraged to contact the Neighborhood House at (908) 757-7100.
The Holiday Train Ride is just one of many festive events in Plainfield this season. On December 5, 2025, the WitchMas Holiday Market will take place in South Plainfield, offering a unique blend of Halloween and holiday-themed shopping experiences. Additionally, the Plainfield Symphony Orchestra is set to present a "Vienna New Year's Celebration" on November 22, 2025, at the Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church, featuring works by Johann Strauss II.
These events highlight the vibrant community spirit of Plainfield, NJ, and provide numerous opportunities for residents to engage and celebrate the holiday season together. |
